Waropen Regency is one of the regencies (kabupaten) in Papua Province, Indonesia. The Regency covers an area of 10,977.09 km2, and it had a population of 24,639 at the 2010 Census; the latest official estimate (as at January 2014) is 30,318. The capital is the town of . Originally, this area comprised those districts of the Yapen Islands Regency which lay on the Papuan mainland, but these districts were split off to constitute a separate regency on 12 November 2002, leaving the Yapen Islands Regency consisting only of Yapen Island and some smaller islands in Cenderawasih Bay.
